Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Foo Fighters land 2012 Brit Award nominations

Noel Gallagher, Coldplay and Foo Fighters have all received nominations for the 2012 Brit Awards.

Noel Gallagher is recognised for a successful start to his solo career with a nomination for British Male, while Foo Fighters are up for International Group and Coldplay are in the running for British Album and British Group.

Elsewhere, Laura Marling could win British Female for a second year in a row, but is likely to be beaten to the award this year by either Jessie J or Adele, who is also the strong favourite for British Album thanks to her massive selling ‘21‘.

As previously announced, Blur will receive the Outstanding Contribution prize and perform live at the ceremony, which is due to take place for a second time at the O2 Arena, London on February 21st.
