New Order confirm more UK tour dates without Peter Hook

New Order have unveiled an extra four UK dates for April and May this year in the wake of news of legal proceedings being instigated against them by estranged bass player Peter Hook.

With Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris once again joined by keyboardist Gillian Gilbert, New Order re-emerged sans Peter Hook to perform two benefit shows for their former producer Michael Shamberg late last year.

When news broke of those gigs, Hook was quick to express his displeasure, and has recently told NME: “The point is that they shouldn’t be using the New Order name without me and it’s up to the lawyers.”

However, four new dates have now been confirmed by the band, who will visit the Manchester Apollo on April 26th, the Birmingham Ballroom on April 29th, the Brixton Academy on May 2nd and the Glasgow Academy on May 5th.

Meanwhile, Peter Hook has his own UK tour plans ironed out, and will take the Joy Division albums ‘Unknown Pleasures‘ and ‘Closer‘ out on the road from next May.
