Jack White unveils debut solo album details

jackwhiteJack White has announced both the title and release date of his much anticipated debut solo album.

The former White Stripes guitarist, who has also achieved significant success with The Raconteurs and Dead Weather, will release ‘Blunderbuss‘ on April 23rd. The record’s lead single, ‘Love Interruption‘, is being streamed online to Third Man Vault members now.

Commenting on the new album, White has described ‘Blunderbuss’ as an LP consisting of tracks which could ‘only be presented under my name’.

“‘Blunderbuss’ is an album I couldn’t have released until now,” he said. “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

The launch of White’s solo career comes almost exactly a year after The White Stripes confirmed their disbandment after a career which produced six studio albums.
