Coldplay win two prizes at European Festival Awards

British band Coldplay were handed two awards at the European Festival Awards yesterday, including the marquee gong for Best Headliner.

The band, whose 2011 festival season included another headline spot at Glastonbury, also picked up Festival Anthem Of The Year for their track ‘Viva la Vida‘.

Elsewhere, Hungary’s Sziget Festival, which was treated to performances last year from the likes of Prince, Kasabian, Interpol and Pulp, was named Best Major European Festival, while Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
