Bright Eyes have won the Best Art Vinyl 2011 prize for the cover of their recent album ‘The People’s Key‘.

The annual prize aims to highlight the most impressive cover art of the past twelve months, and has this year gone to the Zack Nipper designed sleeve which is pictured left. Cults‘ self-titled debut, whose cover features the New York duo in full flow, is placed second, while Bon Iver‘s own self-titled debut is at number three.

Kasabian‘s ‘Velociraptor‘, with a sleeve centred around a kaleidoscopic image of guitarist Serge Pizzorno in a trademark screaming pose, is at #5, while The Strokes are just outside the top five thanks to their 2011 record ‘Angles‘.

Top 10:

1. Bright Eyes – ‘The People’s Key’
2. Cults – ‘Cults’
