The Shins Confirm First New Album Since 2007

The Shins will release their long awaited new album in March next year, it has been confirmed.

The band’s fourth studio album, to be entitled ‘Port Of Morrow‘, will be their first since the brilliant 2007 record ‘Wincing The Night Away‘, and is set to be issued on principal band member James Mercer’s Aural Apothecary label after the group departed Sub Pop in 2008.




The new record will comprise ten tracks, recorded in Los Angeles and Portland during the course of 2011 with producer Greg Kurstin.

In the years since the release of ‘Wincing The Night Away’, James Mercer formed Broken Bells with the multi-talented musician and producer Danger Mouse. Another huge critical success for the pair, the resultant self titled debut hit the shelves in March 2010, troubling the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in the process.
