Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has praised the songwriting talents of Lady Gaga, saying the popstar can ‘beat him at writing choruses’.
Martin is quoted in The Sun newspaper today after his band appeared live on last weekend’s X Factor final, and was flush with respect for one of the world’s biggest selling acts.
“She’s very sweet,” he said. “I think what undercuts it all, though, is that she’s talented and she writes everything. I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses.”
Last week, Coldplay announced a large tour of US arenas due for next year, which will include two dates at the Hollywood Bowl in May 2012. Sandwiched between their US dates will be a UK stadium tour in the summer, when the band will visit outdoor venues in cities including London, Manchester and Sunderland.
