Wild Beasts Announce Short UK Tour

Wild Beasts have announced a low key UK tour to begin in March next year.

The band, who released third album ‘Smother‘ last May, will launch the tour at Warwick University on March 11th, moving on to Norwich, Colchester and Falmouth ahead of a final show in Cardiff on March 16th.

With ‘Smother’ enjoying much praise from critics upon its release, the album was widely expected to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor ‘Two Dancers‘ by landing a 2011 Mercury Music Prize nomination. However, the record was surprisingly overlooked when the annual shortlist was announced last summer.

Despite the snub, ‘Smother’ remains one of the standout Domino releases of 2011, offering a wonderful insight into what makes Wild Beasts one of the more original UK indie acts currently in operation.

After the completion of the March 2012 tour, Wild Beasts are expected to take a short break music, and are said to be aiming to release a new album sometime in 2013.

Dates:

MARCH
Coventry Warwick University (11)
Norwich Waterfront (12)
