The promo features Winehouse’s cover of the Ruby & the Romantics‘ 1963 hit, and contains archived footage from throughout the late star’s tragically short and troubled career.
Earlier this month, one of the album’s producers, Salaam Remi, apparently defended the retrospective record’s release and creation, telling a listening party in the Soho district of London that the LP is intended to highlight the positive side of Winehouse’s short life.
“Lots of people are going to want to remember other aspects of her life, but what we have here highlights that musically and creatively, she was the tops,” The Guardian quoted him as saying. “She was a great musician and a great songwriter as well. She wasn’t a musical fluke.”
‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’ will contain a selection of unreleased tracks and cover versions, and is due for release on December 5th.Just Published:
