The Maccabees Have ‘Finally Achieved Their Sound’ On New Album

themaccabeesBrighton band The Maccabees have said they believe they have finally nailed their sound on the forthcoming third studio album ‘Given To The Wild‘.

Guitarist Felix White has said the record has been inspired by “disparate musical peers” such as The Stone Roses, Kate Bush and David Bowie, and will, for the first time, truly portray how they want their band to sound.

“We’ve grown up as people and changed as a band,” he said. “We’ve learned for the first time what we really wanted The Maccabees to sound like on record It’s taken us three albums but we finally achieved that. We’ve discovered what we’re truly capable of and that feels really exciting.”

‘Given To The Wild‘ was recorded at Rockfield Studios with Massive Attack cohorts Tim Goldsworthy and Bruno Ellingham, and is due for release on January 9th.

In support of the LP, The Maccabees will hit the road in the UK early next year for a series of dates. Beginning in Glasgow on January 23rd, four gigs will follow with a final show arriving at the Manchester Ritz on January 28th.
