The Who‘s Roger Daltrey will headline this year’s Bluesfest in Australia, with The Pogues and My Morning Jacket also booked to perform, reports the Daily Telegraph.

According to the paper. Daltrey will perform The Who’s legendary rock opera ‘Tommy‘ at the festival, with the blessing of his sole surviving bandmate Pete Townshend, who is also due to restart his own touring commitments sometime next year.

Also announced for Bluesfest, along with The Who, The Pogues and My Morning Jacket, are Earth Wind and Fire, John Butler Trio and Yes, with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Steve Lukather also due to take to the Bluesfest stage with Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Bettye Lavette, Brian Setzer, Jonny Lang and Maceo Parker.

Pete Townshend has previously praised Daltrey’s solo vision for ‘Tommy’, remarking: “Roger is touring his unique concert version of Tommy using his faithful presentation of the original work as the backbone for a set of wider material. It is wonderful to hear the way Roger and his new band reinterpret the old Who songs.”
