Marilyn Manson Drummer Quits Band

marilynmansonChris Vrenna has quit as Marilyn Manson‘s drummer after less than a year at the helm.

Vrenna had originally been Manson’s touring keyboardist, but moved on to drum duties last April.

The former Nine Inch Nails man has played on the band’s upcoming studio album, and has said he leaves with a sense of pride at the work he has done during his time with Manson.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work I did with Manson and look forward to the release of ‘Born Villain’,” he said in a statement. “I wish my brothers well but with the recording largely completed I felt it was time to return to other facets of my career which involves production work, film scoring, and future musical collaborations”.

It is thought Vrenna will now focus his effort on a DJ career, while also writing scores for various video games and films.

The follow up to 2009’s ‘The High End Of Low‘, ‘Born Villain‘ is slated for release in February next year.
