Keith Richards Confirms Plans For Rolling Stones Rehearsal

Keith Richards has revealed Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts and himself are planning to meet up for a jam in the near future, but it remains unclear whether Mick Jagger is also up for some studio time with his Rolling Stones bandmates as rumours of a 50th anniversary tour continue.

Richards has made no secret of his desire to pull the Stones back together next year with 2012 marking their 50th year, and has now told Rolling Stone the trio are “…going to play a little together, because we haven’t played for three or four years. You don’t necessarily want to rehearse or write anything – you just want to touch bases.”

However, he admitted Mick Jagger’s intentions are currently up in the air, but said he is ‘welcome’ to join them.

“That’s a good start: me, Charlie and Ronnie,” he added. “Mick’s welcome, and I’m sure he’ll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down.”

The relationship between Jagger and Richards, fractious at best for the past few decades, took a turn for the worse last year when Richards frankly, and some might say confrontationally, discussed their eventful history together in his autobiography Life.
