Kasabian will see in the New Year with a special one-off performance at London’s O2 Arena on December 31st.

Support at the gig will come from Chase & Status and BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, with Kasabian commenting that the London show will be a perfect way to round off a successful 2011 for the band:

“It’s been a hell of a year for us and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate New Year’s Eve than with our fans, friends and family by our side. We promise to set the O2 on fire! Bring on 2012!”

Kasabian released their fourth studio album ‘Velociraptor!‘ in September, which went straight in at number one on the UK chart.

Ahead of their end of year gig, Kasabian will launch a large UK arena tour in Brighton later this month. The tour includes two dates at the London O2 Arena, which come just a couple of weeks before today’s newly-announced date at the same venue.
