Former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash has offered fans an update on the recording of his second solo album.

Slash took to his official Facebook page to reveal three new songs are already finished, with thirteen more due to be worked on over the coming weeks.

“OK, 13 songs ready to record,” he wrote. “Three already done. Two more to finish writing before December. 12 on the record, six bonus tracks. Woohoo!”

Slash released his self-titled debut solo album in March 2010. The record featured a host of guest musicians, including several of his ex-Guns n Roses bandmates. Also lending their talents to the LP were the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy and Chris Cornell.

In addition to his solo work, Slash also remains on the lookout for a singer to front his rock supergroup Velvet Revolver after the departure of Scott Weiland. Widespread rumours had claimed Slipknot grunter Corey Taylor had been brought on board, but those reports have been denied by all parties, and no other news on a new frontman has yet been forthcoming.
