Foo Fighters were named Band Of The Year at the 2011 Classic Rock Awards, which were held at London’s Roundhouse venue last night (November 9th).

The Foos have enjoyed a successful year off the back of seventh studio album ‘Wasting Light‘, which topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and received universal praise from critics.

Elsewhere, with a reissue imminent, The Who‘s legendary rock opera ‘Quadrophenia‘ picked up the Classic Album Award, while former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters‘ re-imagining of the band’s ultimately ill-fated Wall tour has been named Event Of The Year.

Manic Street Preachers, who recently released the singles collection ‘National Treasures‘, landed the Classic Songwriter gong.
