Coldplay will play a special free London show next month as part of BBC Radio 2‘s ongoing In Concert series.

The band will follow the likes of Noel Gallagher and Elbow in performing for the radio station, and will appear at the 500-capacity Dingwalls venue in Camden on December 15th. Fans will be able to apply for tickets via the BBC Radio 2 website between November 24th and 28th.

“Dingwalls is the Camden venue which was hired by Coldplay’s first manager (and now fifth member) Phil Harvey while he was still a student, for a Coldplay show on 25 May 1998,” the band have written on their official website. “The money raised that night helped pay for the recording of The Safety EP.”

Next year, Coldplay will perform five huge outdoor UK gigs beginning at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on May 29th. Two dates at London’s Emirates Stadium follow on June 1st and 2nd, with shows in Sunderland and Manchester rounding off proceedings.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (November 18th) from 9am.
