Last month, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told Spin he sometimes feels like ‘the world hates us’. In totally unrelated news, the band are today being linked with an appearance on the final of X Factor next month.
According to the always reliable Daily Star newspaper, Coldplay have agreed to perform a duet with one of the finalists of this year’s annual talent competition, and the tabloid claims contestant Janet Devlin is being lined up for the performance.
“There isn’t anyone left in the show who would suit Coldplay’s music apart from Janet,” a source is quoted as saying. “She wowed everyone when she sang ‘Fix You’. It shows how confident everyone is that Janet will make the final.”
The winner of this year’s X Factor is again the bookies favourite to land the UK’s traditional Christmas Number One, though more Facebook groups are being launched in an attempt to hijack the seemingly inevitable outcome, with Nirvana‘s classic ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit‘ the highest profile subject of this year’s campaigns.
