Arctic Monkeys Could Ignore Big Money Offers To Stay With Domino

Arctic Monkeys may snub big-money overtures from major labels to stay with Domino, according to their manager Ian McAndrew.

The release of ‘Suck It and See‘, the Sheffield band’s fourth studio album, earlier this year completed their initial deal with Domino Records, sparking rumours that one of the most successful UK rock bands of recent times would be picked up by a major label for the next stage of their career.

However, while McAndrew did confirm their first contract with Domino had now expired, he insisted staying on at their current home remains the most likely outcome of future negotiations.

“It is true that the latest album from Arctic Monkeys is their last under the current arrangement with Domino,” he told Music Week.

“We have not entered into discussions with any other prospective label although we have received plenty of inquiries. Domino has been a great label for the band and afforded us fantastic support and therefore will be at the front of any future discussions we may have about further albums.”

‘Suck It and See’ hit the top spot in the UK upon its release last June – handing the Arctic Monkeys, and Domino, their fourth consecutive number one album.
