Sean Lennon Performs at Occupy Wall Street

Over the weekend, the son of legendary Beatle John Lennon and a sizable bunch of other artists joined an ever-increasing list of entertainers (Talib Kweli, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum, the punk band Anti-Flag, Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie) who performed for the protesters taking part in the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York City.

Sean Lennon took to twitter and alerted his fans that he was on his way to downtown Manhattan park on Sunday night. To no ones surprise mom Yoko Ono was one of the first celebrities to show her support of the protest movement when she tweeted “I love #OccupyWallStreet As John said, “One hero cannot do it. Each one of us have to be heroes.” And you are. Thank you”— “The revolution is televised!”

Rufus Wainwright and friends joined Sean for an acoustic cover of Madonna’s pop hit ” Material Girl”.  I guess one could say:  strange days indeed…..
