Muse‘s 2003 single ‘Hysteria‘ has the greatest bass line of all-time, according to a new poll conducted by MusicRadar.

The publication places Muse at number one, ahead of Rush‘s ‘YYZ‘ and Queen‘s disco-fused favourite ‘Another One Bites The Dust‘.

Queen also feature at #4, with their excellent David Bowie collaboration ‘Under Pressure‘, while Pink Floyd‘s ‘Money‘, taken from the massive selling ‘Dark Side Of The Moon‘, is at number 6.

The Who‘s ‘My Generation‘, famous for its pioneering bass breaks by the legendary John Entwistle, is at #9.

  1. I would have thought Jack Bruce’s bass line from Crossroads would have been on the list…

  2. Alfred Smith

Wow! Clearly this was rock based. Misleading indeed. There are ALL kinds of great bass lines from many different types of music. You should explain what type of music you’re talking about and who your audience is.
