Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil has said the band could release a double album next up following the hugely successful 2009 release ‘Only Revolutions‘.

“We are working pretty hard, neck deep in it at the moment, we’re now up to about 30 odd songs so it may be a double album you never know…the dreaded d-word,” he told a reporter for XFM at the recent Q Awards.

Later, Neil hinted at a slight departure in sound for the Scottish trio, saying there is “…really kinda obscure things going on: we’ve got a prog country song – which we’d never thought we’d do – we got some weird math rock meets almost goth rock stuff. It’s hard to describe just yet but there’s moments that are very odd.”

Biffy Clyro won the Best Live Act prize at the 2011 Q Awards, with other big winners including U2, who were named Best Act Of The Last 25 Years, and Noel Gallagher, who was handed the Icon gong.
