Adele Cancer Rumours Quickly Denied By Management

A spokesperson for British star Adele has quickly moved to deny scurrilous internet rumours which suggested the remainder of her 2011 UK tour had been cancelled due to throat cancer.

Adele has been dogged with throat problems for a large portion of the year, and a decision to cancel remaining tour dates for the rest of 2011 was confirmed last week.

In the wake of the reports, some websites recently began quoting online rumours of a more serious reason for Adele’s illness, forcing management today to release a short statement which reads:

“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.”

Adele has enjoyed a phenomenal rise to worldwide super-stardom this year, chiefly after a much praised performance of ‘Someone Like You‘ at the 2011 Brit Awards. The parent album ‘21‘ subsequently went to the top of the charts in the UK and US, comfortably becoming the year’s biggest selling release.
