Sonic Youth Compilation To Get Full Release With New Track

The Sonic Youth compilation ‘Hits Are For Squares‘, previously available only through limited outlets, is to receive a full release next month through Universal.

The album, to be released on October 31st, contains tracks from throughout the grunge pioneers’ career, which have been selected by a diverse group of Sonic Youth fans which includes Beck, David Cross, and Portia de Rossi, while a new song, ‘Slow Revolution‘, will also be included.

In addition to the album, on October 31st the 20th anniversary of the iconic tour documentary The Year Punk Broke, which centered around Sonic Youth’s European tour, but is also memorable for the soon-to-be era-defining bands who supported them, most notably Nirvana, will be celebrated with a long-awaited DVD debut release.
