Leading stars from the music world have been lending their support to New York as the city marks the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

The current and former Presidents of the United States, Barack Obama and George W. Bush, along with families of the victims and well wishers, have been at Ground Zero today for a service of remembrance for those lost a decade ago.

Several music stars have joined the tributes, including pop icon Lady Gaga, who wrote in Rolling Stone: “I spend a lot of time outside of New York, but there’s no other place like it in the world. I’ve lived here for so many years. It’s a wonderful, wonderful place.”

Rap Star Busta Rhymes, a native of Brooklyn, New York, has said: “You know, we’ve been able to still show our resilience and our endurance as a city, as a people, coming together and representing and remembering the lives of the ones that we lost, is such a beautiful thing to know that we’re not celebrating their loss but we’re celebrating their lives.”

In addition, there have been several musicians who have used Twitter to lend their own thoughts, amongst them Beady Eye and former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who has simply written: “NYC, Live Forever….LG”.
