The Vaccines have revealed they have yet to seriously turn their minds to writing a new album, as time on the road promoting debut ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?‘ remains the priority.

Guitarist Freddie Cowan and bass player Arni Hjrvar told NME at last weekend’s Reading Festival that, since the band do not tend to write while on the road, plans for a new record have not been given much consideration.

“We don’t generally write on the road,” explained Cowan. “We’ve got some time off coming up. But I couldn’t even tell you about the new album because we haven’t thought about it yet.”

“We haven’t thought about it but it’s on our minds,” added Hjrvar. “We’re aware that the normal way to do it is to release another record at some point. And that that will involve some writing.”

A succession of well-received singles since the release the double A-sided single ‘Wreckin Bar (Ra Ra Ra) / Blow It Up‘ late last year has led to a successful 2011 for The Vaccines, who performed to packed out tents at both legs of Reading / Leeds.
