Sir Paul McCartney will release the ballet album ‘Ocean’s Kingdom‘ on October 3rd, which will follow the accompanying dance show’s opening in New York on September 22nd.

According to Billboard, four subsequent performances of the production will take place in September after the opening night, with a further five set for January 2012. McCartney’s music will be conducted live by John Wilson and performed by the London Classical Orchestra.

Speaking about the new composition, Sir Paul outlined his desire to write about the human emotion, and detailed the challenge which that presented him.

“I was trying to write something that expressed an emotion – so you have fear, love, anger, sadness to play with, and I found that exciting and challenging.”

‘Ocean’s Kingdom’ will be released through Decca Records – an institution McCartney has a long history with thanks to label famously ‘losing The Beatles‘ when they turned down the chance to sign the band in the early 60s.
