Noel Gallagher Explains Debut Solo Album Artwork

highflyingbirdsartworkNoel Gallagher has been explaining the artwork for his forthcoming debut solo album ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘ (pic), revealing the LA snap was designed to mirror the record’s title.

“We were in Los Angeles, and I’m there with a mate of mine who’s a photographer Lawrence Watson,” says Gallagher in a video clip on thisisfakediy.co.uk.

“He ends up buying an old 50s polaroid camera. He was taking some pictures in the studio, and they looked great instantly – like ‘wow, now that’s a photograph'”

“There’s an old petrol station in Beverley Hills beside the police station that’s got a triangular neon roof, and when you stand underneath it it looks like you’re stood underneath Concorde. So we go out one night and it’s all lit up in the neon, and we’re taking these pictures – it looks like I’m stood under the wings of a high flying bird.”

‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ is due for release on October 17th, and will be preceded by the single ‘The Death Of You and Me‘.
