Nirvana Bassist Krist Novoselic To Perform ‘Nevermind’ In Full

kristnFormer Nirvana bass player Krist Novoselic is to perform the band’s classic second studio album ‘Nevermind‘ in its entirety as part of the many celebrations being organised to mark the record’s 20th anniversary.

Rolling Stone reports Novoselic will play the one-off gig in Nirvana’s home city of Seattle on September 20th, with proceeds going towards Seattle music heavyweight Susie Tennant, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The 20th anniversary of ‘Nevermind’ is being marked with a series of initiatives over the course of the next few months. A special deluxe edition of the album, featuring rarities, re-mastered tracks and a new Butch Vig-mixed take on the record will be released in September, while a London exhibition will also take place that month.

First issued in September 1991, ‘Nevermind’ gradually gained momentum off the back of hit single, and subsequent era-defining anthem, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit‘, eventually hitting the top spot in the US the following January.
