Glasvegas' original line-up

Glasvegas cut short their performance at V Festival after a barrage of bottles were thrown at the band, according to weekend reports.

Online sources suggest the Scottish group only managed four tracks before leaving the stage at the Hylands Park, Chelmsford leg on Saturday evening (August 20th).

Loaded magazine, who were tweeting from the festival, reported that the ‘audience bottled band’, and later added ‘too many bottles. Had a ruck. Walked off,’ when pressed for further details by their Twitter followers.

Glasvegas’ management have since released a statement defending the band’s actions, insisting they always have the best interests of their crowds at heart.

“It’s an honour for Glasvegas to play in front of any crowd,” the statement reads. “They performed at Pukkelpop before the storm blew in and we were reminded first hand how important safety of a crowd and band are. The kids that come along to the festivals are passionate about their music – they’ve saved and sacrificed for months to pay for tickets and want to have an amazing weekend.”

“The line up of the Arena Stage is very different from ‘rock n’roll’, but it really doesn’t what matter what genre. Glasvegas respect this and will always give the crowd 100%. All we want is for everyone, including the band, to have a good time and go home safely.”

V Festival offers a mix of pop and rock acts, with Glasvegas’ set coming in between Katy B and Chase & Status. Arctic Monkeys and Eminem headlined this year’s event.
