Former Alexisonfire Guitarist Is New Gallows Frontman

Wade MacNeil, former Alexisonfire guitarist who announced their split last week, has been confirmed as the man to fill the frontman-shaped hole in the Gallows.

The Watford-based noisemakers have been on the look out for a new singer since Frank Carter left the band last month, and have opted for the man who has also previously fronted their one-time tour partners The Black Lungs.

“After the boys decided they were going to keep going, my name kind of popped up, and they all thought it made sense,” MacNeil told Alternative Press. “It didn’t over complicate itself. I talked to Steph, and I said I was definitely interested. He pretty much said, ‘Okay, let’s do it,’ and I got on a plane and we’re writing right now.”

Meanwhile, Alexisonfire’s frontman Dallas Green has told Spinner he had been angling to leave the Canadian band for a good while, saying being in the group was ‘killing’ him.

“They didn’t want me to leave the band,” he explained. “They said, ‘Why can’t you just keep doing what we’re doing, go back and forth?’ Well, that’s why I’m leaving, because it’s killing me.”

“As much as they saw me always on tour and always putting records out back to back to back, I don’t think they really understood that I was literally never home. I’ve had nervous breakdowns. I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I’ve lain in the bus crying uncontrollably at night.”

Since departing the Gallows, Frank Carter has formed Pure Love and is already working on new material.
