Noel Gallagher‘s debut solo single ‘The Death Of You and Me‘ will be backed by the b-side ‘The Good Rebel‘, reports the NME, while the magazine has also unveiled the single’s artwork (pic).

The news comes in an exclusive interview with NME in which Noel further expands on his thoughts on the impending solo career, Beady Eye and his relationship with brother Liam, which were first outlined at a London press conference earlier this month.

Noel brands Liam ‘a born liar’, and expresses his surprise at Beady Eye’s lack of genuine success on the UK charts. On his own solo expedition, Noel has said he doesn’t expect to emulate the level of success enjoyed by previous band Oasis, saying: “I won’t be in anyway approaching being as big as Oasis were. Ever.”

He added “I don’t ever see me playing stadiums. I don’t think the demand will be there. I could probably do an arena in Manchester. Probably. But I don’t know. I’m just going to see how it goes. it’s a nice position to be in, and I’ve not been in this position since ‘Definitely Maybe’, where it’s just like, ‘Well put this album out, don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Noel Gallagher’s debut solo album, ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘, will be released in October, with a tour due to begin in Dublin a week later.

This week’s NME is available digitally and in London today (July 19th), and will hit the shelves UK-wide tomorrow.
