Laura Marling is to release her third studio album ‘A Creature I Don’t Know‘ on September 12th. Produced by Kings Of Leon cohort Ethan Johns, the album is the follow up to last year’s acclaimed release ‘I Speak Because I Can‘.
Marling had originally intended to release two albums in 2010, but told NME those plans had been changed in the September of that year: “It’s not going to be this year, but it’s good.”
“It will be on its way soon, which is nice. It’s becoming different from the last album actually, because I’ve scrapped a bit of it halfway through. I hope to have it done by February. Setting deadlines is not my favourite thing!”
‘I Speak Because I Can’ landed Marling a second successive Mercury Music Prize nomination, while a growing wave of critical acclaim saw the songwriter take home the British Female Solo Artist gong at the 2011 Brit Awards. The album was included in Live4ever’s Essential Listening retrospective last December.
