Arctic Monkeys Facing Censorship In Parts Of The US

monkeysArctic Monkeys are finding their new album is facing the wrath of the censors in parts of the US whom they say have mistaken the meaning of the title, ‘Suck It and See‘.

Speaking to John Kennedy on the digital station XFM, frontman Alex Turner described how certain retailers in America have decided the LP’s title is ‘rude’.

“They think it is rude, disrespectful and they’re putting a sticker over it in America in certain stores, big ones,” he said.

After working on initial ideas in New York, the band then took their new material to producer James Ford, with the intention of re-creating a ‘live’ feel which dominated the sessions for debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not‘.

“The first one obviously was done pretty much like that because we’d been playing it around before we recorded it. That was something we wanted to try and do again,” Turner continued.

‘Suck It and See’ is due for release on June 6th.
