UK chart-topper Adele has hailed Bon Iver‘s new self-titled album as her favourite of the year so far, after the record went in at number 3 on the Album Chart yesterday.
Writing on her blog Adele, whose own album ‘21‘ has dominated the charts for most of the year, praised the talents of Bon Iver leader Justin Vernon.
“I’m pretty convinced it’s my record of the year already,” she wrote. “You know when someone’s life flashes before their eyes in a film, and every memory flashes before their eyes. It happens when you listen to him sing, but you survive it!”
In our review, Live4ever was slightly more reserved, stating: “There’s a lot of promise in these songs, and a lot of great things to say about it. Except that it isn’t great. It’s a signpost to great things in the future from this band.” Read the full article here.
Adele also saved some praise for Bon Iver’s 2008 debut ‘For Emma, Forever Ago‘, which she labelled ‘by far the most moving record I had ever heard’.
