The Kills’ Jamie Hince: Beyonce ‘Puts Rock Bands To Shame’

The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince has said he believes the attention paid by acts such as Beyonce and her partner Jay-Z to their live shows ‘puts rock bands to shame’.

Speaking to Spinner, Hince spoke of his admiration for Beyonce’s tightly choreographed productions, something he feels presents a better spectacle than that offered by many guitar bands.

“You see all these rock bands and you think they’re really it and really happening but they barely move onstage, with their nonchalance and not caring,” he said. “Go and see Beyonce and Jay Z and every single second has been taken care of where there’s something going on; they put rock bands to shame.”

Hince also revealed how Beyonce made a point to attend The Kills’ recent New York gig, after becoming a fan of new album ‘Blood Pressures‘.

“She was the first person I saw when we came on stage,” he explained. “Someone told us that she had been listening to our record and that she was going to come to our show.”

In other news, Beyonce will add an appearance at this summer’s T In The Park festival to her impending headline spot at next month’s Glastonbury, where she will top the bill alongside Coldplay and U2.
