Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler plans to follow in the footsteps of fellow American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez by premièring the video for his debut solo single on the hit TV show.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Tyler will launch his solo track on the May 12th episode of American Idol, with its first play coming on the show’s host Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on May 9th.
Entitled ‘(It) Feels So Good‘, Tyler’s first solo single has been written by the singer alongside long-term collaborator Marti Frederiksen, and could feature ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger according to reports.
“It’s everything you would expect to get from a classic Aerosmith video,” a source has said of the promo. “Without giving too much away, think pure, classic Steven Tyler in all of his rock star glory.”
Aerosmith’s future has been the subject of continuous conjecture since Tyler first announced his plans to join the American Idol judging panel, with bandmate Joe Perry in particular initially declaring his displeasure at the decision.
However, despite the apparent frictions and Tyler’s impending solo career, the various members of Aerosmith have continued to insist a new album from the band remains on the agenda.
