New Razorlight Line-Up ‘Gelling As a Band’, Working On Album

Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell has said the band’s new line-up, of which he is now the only remaining original member, are progressing well with work on a new album.

Razorlight caused some surprise, and sniggering, earlier this year when a rather eccentric new band shot first introduced fans to its new line-up (above), which Borrell has now told the UK’s XFM radio station is gelling nicely.

“We’re really gelling as a band and a group of people and we’re really enjoying working together,” he said. “There’s a really good atmosphere, it feels great, really really good. There are some songs coming together. But it’ll be ready when it’s ready.”

Borrell added that the general make-up of the new album is yet to take shape, commenting: “I don’t know, we’re still finding out. That’s important, when you’re making an album, it should be a journey.”

The LP will be Razorlight’s first since 2008’s ‘Slipway Fires‘.
