Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has said Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is his number one choice to star in the forthcoming film which will look at the trials and tribulations of The Beatles‘ Apple company.
Gallagher recently set up a new production firm to begin work on the film, which is based around Richard DiLello’s brilliantly entertaining book The Longest Cocktail Party.
With a script now completed, which Gallagher claims will ‘blow people’s minds’, he has revealed he wants Johnny Depp, a man with a past association with Liam and Oasis, to play Derek Taylor, The Beatles’ publicist and a driving force in the Apple story, in the movie.
“Derek Taylor was a dude. He’s up there with Lennon,” he told the new issue of Q Magazine. “The film script is done. It’s gonna blow people’s minds, man. I’m just waiting to find out when we choose the actors. I want Johnny Depp to play Derek Taylor. It’s got Johnny Depp written all over it, man.”
Liam’s new band Beady Eye plan to write the soundtrack for the film, and are also looking to begin work on a new album by the end of this year.
