Jason Bonham has revealed the new Black Country Communion album is set to feature a track written by Bonham and his late father John’s former Led Zeppelin bandmates Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

Bonham explained the song, entitled ‘Save Me‘, would have appeared on a new Led Zeppelin album had plans for a 2008 reunion been cemented, but was instead completed during work on his own band’s second album.

“There’s a song that started off as an idea that I worked on with them, so I was happy to finish it off with this band and have it come out,” he told the Toronto Sun. “It’s called ‘Save Me’. You’ll notice it in the riff. You’ll hear a slight Zepesque riff – it’s got a definite feel to it.”

On the planned 2008 restart of Led Zeppelin, Bonham spoke of his disappointment when things failed to get off the ground.

“I was very much under the illusion that we were going to write an album and we were going to put together a new project,” he said.

“It was winter, like early December of 2008 when it kind of came to a halt, which was a hard thing for me to get over for a while. I had just played the concert of my life.”

Black Country Communion are set for a US tour next month, and will appear at various festivals across Europe this summer.
