Blondie have released the promo for lead single ‘Mother‘, which centres around the Nineties celebrity mecca of the same name on New York’s West 14th Street.
The track is the first taken from their first studio album for eight years, which is to be released in September. Entitled ‘Panic Of Girls‘, the album has been largely recorded in Woodstock, New York with The Killers‘ cohort Jeff Saltzman and Kato Khandwala.
A limited edition ‘fan pack’ version of the new record will precede the official release date on June 1st, available from the band’s official website. A 132-page magazine will come with the special issue, containing an in-depth look at the making of the album and the history of the group.
The album has been recorded by original members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein and Clem Burke along with long term bassist Leigh Fox, and also features contributions from The Cars’ Elliot Easton.
The record is the follow up to 2003′s ‘The Curse Of Blondie‘.
