Foo Fighters are set to land their first US number one album next week, with Nielsen SoundScan confirming sales of 235,000 for seventh release ‘Wasting Light‘ has pushed the record to the top spot, in the process selling more than twice the amount of that sold by the record in second place.

UK singer-songwriter Adele will be in second place with ‘21‘, despite an increase in sales, while Alison Krauss & Union Station will enter at #3.

The legendary Paul Simon will debut at #4 with his new album ‘So Beautiful or So What‘, and Spanish rockers Mana are at #5 with ‘Drama Y Luz‘.

In the UK, the Foo Fighters look set to drop off the top spot this coming Sunday after finally ending Adele’s long run at the top of the Album Chart. Adele is expected to return to number one after the week’s absence, with Gorillaz‘ recent physical release of ‘The Fall’ at #4 in the midweek charts.
