Coldplay’s Chris Martin Covers Oasis At London Gig

martinColdplay frontman Chris Martin covered Oasis‘ 1995 smash-hit single ‘Wonderwall‘ during a low-key gig in London last night (April 13th).

While performing a short, three-song benefit gig at the Boogaloo pub, Martin opened with a new track which isn’t expected to feature on Coldplay’s forthcoming album, and which was described by the singer as ‘a bit soppy’.

He then asked for requests from the audience, and proclaimed “fuck it, I’ll do it, but only if you do it with me,” when a request for ‘Wonderwall’ was made. According to fansite Coldplaying.com, he was then joined on stage by the audience member during the cover.

To finish the show, Martin performed the track ‘Green Eyes‘ with actor/comedian Simon Pegg on harmonica, who had curated the benefit evening.

Recent reports suggest Coldplay are in the process of putting the finishing touches to their new album, which has been recorded with Brian Eno and is expected to be released later this year.
