Kentucky based five-piece My Morning Jacket have finished work on their new album, the first since 2008’s ‘Evil Urges‘.
After the slickly run, professional nature which characterised their previous album, My Morning Jacket decided to turn their back on the bright lights, and returned home for a more basic recording experience this time round. Speaking to Rolling Stone, frontman Jim James explained: “This is the most live record we’ve ever done.”
While guitarist Carl Broemel added the fresh approach has elevated the new material to a level above that of its predecessors. “This record feels like a couple of steps forward of what we’d been doing in terms of overall sound,” he said.
As yet, a release date for the new record, entitled ‘Circuital‘ has yet to be released. A tracklist is also still to be unveiled, though Rolling Stone did list a selection of tracks expected to feature on the LP, which included ‘Victory Dance‘, ‘Wonderful‘, and ‘Out of My System‘.
