The Rolling Stones have moved to deny rumours they are due to tour this year, after a details of a lawsuit involving Live Nation appeared to suggest plans were afoot for the group to hit the road in 2011.

Concert promoter Live Nation is suing its former chairman Michael Cohl over a contract dispute, leading to Cohl counter-suing the promoters, claiming they had attempted to ‘interfere and ‘destroy’ a potential bid he may have had to gain rights to a forthcoming Rolling Stones tour this year.

However, a Rolling Stones spokesman has said today the group have ‘no firm plans to tour at this time’, while on their relationship with Cohl the spokesman said: “Following the end of the 2007 A Bigger Bang world tour The Rolling Stones became free from any contractual arrangements or agreements with Michael Cohl. He is neither their representative nor their tour promoter.”

Both Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have both recently expressed their desire to return to action with The Rolling Stones, with Richards telling BBC 6Music that ‘everybody’s ready to go out there again’.
