The Coral and Mercury-nominated band Wild Beasts are amongst the acts confirmed to be be playing London’s Field Day festival in August.

Songwriter Willy Mason and The Horrors also lead the list of names recently announced for the event, which is due to take place on August 6th in London’s Victoria Park.

“I’m so excited by the line up for Field Day 2011,” commented the event’s promoter. “I know that everyone says each year that their line up is the best yet…! but I really think that this one is!  With the likes of Jon Cale, Tortoise (who I’ve been trying to book since year one) Konono No. 1, alongside Jamie Woon, Electrelane’s come back show and Wild Beasts it makes for a colourful and must see event.”

Field Day was initiated in 2007 when the likes of Alberta Cross and Mystery Jets performed. More bands are due to be unveiled soon, and more information can be found at Fielddayfestivals.com.
