Former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash has said he would begin to consider a reunion with his former band if frontman Axl Rose personally apologised to him.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Daily, Slash explained how he would open discussions about playing with Axl Rose again for the first time since 1996 if Rose said ‘sorry’, but added that he didn’t expect that particular scenario to be played out any time soon.
“That would be a call I would be surprised to get,” he said when asked what he would do if Axl called him to apologise. “If that really happened, I would have to clean out my junk drawer, too, but I don’t see it happening. But if it did happen, I would do whatever it takes to at least have a conversation about it.”
Slash was speaking to the newspaper ahead of his forthcoming tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Slash is ready to return with his acclaimed rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, who have recently confirmed their search for a new frontman has ended successfully.
