Roger Daltrey: Playing Live With Foo Fighters ‘What Rock Used To Be’


rogerdaltreyLegendary Who frontman Roger Daltrey has been reflecting on his impromptu collaboration with the Foo Fighters at this week’s NME Awards, believing the hook up evoked the true spirit of rock n roll.

Daltrey performed The Who’s track ‘Young Man Blues‘ with the US rockers after presenting Dave Grohl with the Godlike Genius Award at the annual bash in London on Wednesday. When speaking to NME post gig, Daltrey explained how the idea was conceived with a short conversation backstage, and involved no prior preparation.




“That’s what rock ‘n’ roll used to be like,” he said. “People used to just get up and make it up on the spot. Which is what we were doing tonight.”

Foo Fighters are gearing up for the release of seventh album ‘Wasting Light‘ on April 12th, which as been recorded with Dave Grohl’s former Nirvana cohort Butch Vig. The record’s first single, ‘Rope‘, was given its debut across radio and Internet this week.
