Jon Fratelli Marks New Solo Career With Free Download

jon fratelli lst075164Fratellis frontman Jon Fratelli is to mark the completion of his as-yet-untitled debut solo album by releasing ‘Rhythm Doesn’t Make You A Dancer’ as a free download. The album has been recorded with Beck and Depeche Mode producer Tony Hoffer in Los Angeles.

Jon Fratelli rose to prominence with the release of The Fratellis’ first studio album ‘Costello Music‘, which spawned a succession of hit singles including ‘Chelsea Dagger‘, ‘Whistle For The Choir‘ and ‘Henrietta‘. The record went on to sell over 1 million copies and earned the band a Brit award.

After the Scottish group struggled to match the success of their debut with follow up ‘Here We Stand‘, they embarked on a ‘hiatus’ from July 2009, but have denied reports of a full split.

Jon Fratelli is due to play a special show at Edinburgh’s HMV Picturehouse on February 12th, where he will be backed by Morning Parade. Fratelli’s live assemble is set to feature his former bandmate Mince on drums.
