White Lies frontman Harry McVeigh dreams of his band following Kings Of Leon‘s progression to their current status as one of the world’s biggest rock acts.

McVeigh told NME the gradual growth of Kings Of Leon from their 2003 debut ‘Youth & Young Manhood‘ to breakthrough smash ‘Only By The Night‘ is the ideal path to global success.

“I’ve been reading a lot of things about Kings of Leon’s career path,” he said. “Whether you like them or not, they were on a perfect rise to the level they were at. With each record they’ve grown in popularity, and I think that’s a really comfortable way to become one of the biggest bands in the world.”

McVeigh also praised the Tennessee four-piece’s demeanour on stage, and their strength as a live band. “We’ve toured with them, seen how comfortable they looked on stage and what a good show they put on,” he said. “If we were to get to that level it’d be a really natural and accomplished way of doing it.”

After acheiving significant domestic success with their debut album ‘To Lose My Life‘ in 2009, White Lies returned this week with second record ‘Ritual‘.
